The major duties of the Maintenance Work (MVO) Supervisor position include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Develop, implement manage, supervise and lead the long, short-range and day-to-day activities of the park's field maintenance operation
-Counsel and mitigate poor performance.
-Utilize disciplinary guidelines when necessary.
-Manage the operations and maintenance of a light and/or heavy equipment fleet.
-Plan short and long range programs for labor, material, and equipment requirements.
-Determine necessary personnel, tools, material, and equipment required to accomplish assignments; establish priorities, deadlines, and methods to accomplish tasks.
-Serve as a journeyman in one or more of the following trades and crafts areas: carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating, painting, auto and heavy equipment operation under general supervision.
-Use computers to manipulate, transfer, and utilize data using MS word, Excel, Facility Condition Asset, Cost Estimating Software System, Project Management Information System, Planning Environmental Public Comment, Administrative Finance System, and Facility Management Software System software programs.
-Ensure operational compliance with National Park Service guidelines, state, and federal regulations concerning hazardous waste, material handling and storage, building codes, etc.

If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to a few nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
