Qualifications

Applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The Premier Civilian Intern (PCIP) program:

To qualify for an Internship as a GS-05, students must have completed four full semesters leading to a bachelor's degree, and must be enrolled in a full-time academic program, scheduled to graduate in the Fall semester of 2021 or Spring semester of 2022 to receive consideration. Applicants who have already attained a bachelor's degree may also be considered if they are currently enrolled in a full-time master's degree program, scheduled to graduate in the Fall of 2021 or Spring semester of 2022.

You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited public or other non-profit college or university:
· Enrolled in an approved degree program
· Enrollment must be in a full-time program
· Have a good academic standing (no less than 2.95 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale)
· Meet the qualification standards of the position
· Must be at least 16 years of age
· A U.S. citizen or a national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island)
· Must sign a Participant Agreement

Medical, Health and Fitness Requirements:
- Must be physically fit in order to perform strenuous and physically demanding duties
- May be required to take a series of vaccinations and immunizations
- Moderate to arduous physical exertion involving standing, walking, running
- The use of firearms (prior to conversion to the 1811 job series, applicants must meet the initial and continuing AFOSI qualifications in the use of firearms)

DHA Post-Secondary Students may work full-time schedules during the student's Summer session/break.

DHA Post-Secondary Students may be considered for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent appointment within 120 days of completion of degree requirements, if they meet the following:

1. Successfully complete academic course of study with a GPA of at least 2.95.
2. Meet the OPM Qualification requirements for the target position to which the DHA Post-Secondary Student may be converted.
3. Maintain acceptable performance.

The Premier College Intern Program targets individuals who are seeking a dynamic career with the Air Force Civilian Service in a variety of career fields by gaining real-world experience. You will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the Air Force Civilian Service.

Upon graduation and program requirement completion, a Premier College Intern may be converted to a career, career-conditional appointment into the Air Force Palace Acquire/Copper Cap or similar developmental training program without further competition.

Firearms: The duties of this position require the incumbent be trained to carry a firearm prior to conversion to the 1811 series. Applicants must meet initial and continuing AFOSI qualifications in the use of firearms.
