GS-12: In order to qualify for the GS-12 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in Federal service.
Specialized experience in operating requirements, methods, and procedures used protecting and preventing unauthorized access to areas that could affect the integrity of the facility, employee and/or public health & safety, detaining violators who attempt to resist and other situations requiring specialized training and experience in security protocol.
Supervisory Competencies:
Applicants should possess proficiency or the potential to develop proficiency in the following competencies for successful performance of Federal supervisory work with administrative, operational and/or technical direction in working with security and/or protective type programs.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING CRITERIA:
All candidates who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be required to attend the pre-employment screening in Boulder City, NV, at a time, date and location to be provided by Human Resources. Applicants will be given further instructions via email if found qualified. The following activities will be conducted at the pre-employment screening. The same criteria will be used for all ages of applicants and both male and female applicants. All cost associated with the PT Test and/or oral interview process are the sole responsibility of the applicant and the agency will not be responsible for reimbursement of associated cost. FAILURE TO ATTEND AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE ALL AREAS OF THE PT TESTING WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS OR SUBSTITUTIONS FOR ATTENDING THE PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Supervisory Probationary Period: An employee initially appointed to a supervisory position must serve a one-year supervisory probationary period unless you have previously completed one.
Optional Form 306 (OF-306): Before final selection, you will be required to sign and certify the accuracy of the information in your application. Background Investigation/Security Clearance: If selected, you will be subject to an extensive background investigation to determine fitness for employment and/or a security clearance. Driver’s License/History: Operation of a Government vehicle is required; therefore, you must possess a valid state driver’s license. A driving history check is required.
Drug Testing: Position is subject to drug testing, including pre-employment and random testing thereafter, during the course of employment.
Use of Firearms: You will be required to carry a firearm while performing the duties of this position and must maintain firearm proficiency throughout the duration of employment. Yearly re-certification is required. You must lawfully have the right to carry a firearm. Placement and retention in this position is subject to compliance with the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban (i.e., Lautenberg Amendment) as you will be required to carry a firearm in the performance of the duties of this position.
Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) : You shall be physically able to perform efficiently rigorous duties and will be required to pass the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) screening. This a annual requirement.
Pre-employment Physical: If selected, you are required to obtain and successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination conducted by an Occupational Medical Facility or a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of the position. This requirement may be waived if a comparable physical examination was required for placement in your current position and was completed within established timelines. If waived, you will be required to submit documentation of a successfully completed comparable physical examination. Periodic physical examinations are required and must be successfully passed for continued employment.
Work Schedule: This position is subject to working rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
