The Medical Center Director positions are located in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Pay is commensurate with the candidate's experience and the hospital complexity level. VHA operates healthcare facilities across the country that range from small facilities in rural areas to large tertiary hospitals in urban areas with robust teaching and research programs.
Highly complex Medical Centers (level 1A facilities) are eligible for Critical Pay, extending the salary range up to $201,900. Critical Pay eligible locations included in this announcement are: Denver, CO and Tucson, AZ.

VHA Medical Centers provide a wide range of services including traditional hospital-based services such as surgery, critical care, mental health, orthopedics, pharmacy, radiology, and physical therapy. In addition, most of our medical centers offer additional medical and surgical specialty services including audiology & speech pathology, dermatology, dental geriatrics, neurology, oncology, podiatry, prosthetics, urology, and vision care. Some medical centers also offer advanced services such as organ transplants and plastic surgery. The Health System Administrator (Medical Center Director) is responsible to the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Director. The position requires the effective and economical direction, control, and operation of the VA Medical Center (VAMC). The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
