The incumbent reports to the Associate Director for External Affairs in the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) and is responsible for providing budget, financial, and administrative support. The incumbent will serve as liaison between the Associate Director and her subordinate units (Offices of Advancement, Education, Communication/Public Affairs, Special Events and Social Media). Major duties and responsibilities include the following:

You must meet at least ONE of the requirements described below:
Grade 11: One year of full-time experience at the Grade 9 level that is close or similar to the work of this job. The experience includes activities such as serving as an assistant and advisor managing operational logistics for an executive; writing and editing reports, correspondence and presentations; compiling, analyzing and interpreting strategic communications and reports; communicating orally with internal and external visitors, donors, foundations, corporations, etc.; maintaining calendar of meetings/events; and managing financial transactions expense management, procurement and travel authorizations.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.

Grade 11: Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree related to this position may be substituted to meet the
experience requirements.
