The incumbent will work with staff members within project teams in order to achieve mutual objectives and goals. Develop methods and promote standards for evaluation, testing, and improvement of

accomplishments.
NIST currently has a Student Internship opportunity under the Pathways program located in the Information Technology Laboratory. There are specific technical areas of interest: Cybersecurity, education, research, writing, communication. The incumbent will assist National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Program Office staff conducting research on a variety of cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development topics.
All applicants must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, degree) in a qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled). In addition, you must be enrolled in school for the duration of the appointment. You will be required to provide documentation to support your eligibility for the program.
Applicants must possess a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.If you are submitting an acceptance/enrollment letter from your university you MUST also upload your last known unofficial transcript containing your cumulative GPA. If you do not provide proof of GPA, you will be disqualified from further consideration.

In additional to the above, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.
Superior Academic Achievement is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
1. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: a. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or b. 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
