The incumbent of this position will occupy an entry level Policy Analyst position. This opportunity offers tailored learning and development activities to include: formal and informal instruction, guidance, and mentoring. The goal of this career development plan is to enable the selected individual to meet the requirement of the full performance level. At the successful conclusion of the development period, the full performance salary range increases to $81,548 to $152,852.
Even though this position is advertised at the entry level, applicants may be placed at the full performance level upon selection if they meet the education and experience requirements.
The Judicial Conference Secretariat (JCS) plays a vital role in supporting the Judicial Conference and its committees in their work of making national administrative policy for the United States Courts. Headed by the Judicial Conference Secretariat Officer, JCS is responsible for providing staff services to the Conference and its Executive Committee, including professional and administrative support of the Conference's biannual sessions and more-frequent Executive Committee meetings, and for coordinating other AO staff who support the work of other Conference committees. JCS activities are highly visible to numerous senior officials of the Federal Judiciary and high-level staff in the AO. Among other things, the office is responsible for addressing inquiries from judges and others regarding policies and actions of the Judicial Conference and its committees, and for providing procedural guidance and advice. This position will assist with conducting research, providing analysis, reviewing agenda items, committee reports, and policies.
