Position(s) are located with various operations offices and staff divisions of HHS in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area (which includes Montgomery County, Maryland).
While conversion is not guaranteed, Student Trainees, with U.S. citizenship, may be converted to a career-conditional appointment (permanent, or to a term position lasting 1-4 years) within 120 days of successful completion of all program requirements specified by the Pathways Participant Agreement.

The Student Trainee (Public Health) performs the following duties:
Health Communications Specialist Intern duties include, but are not limited to assisting with quantitative and qualitative research on health communication topics; assist with the development of digital health communication and implementation of multimedia content; assisting with drafting and editing content and monitoring analytics for social media platforms; prepare talking points, briefing materials, and presentations on health related topics.
Social Science Analyst Intern duties include, but are not limited to assisting with quantitative and qualitative analysis of social science programs and topics; assisting with conducting evaluations of social science programs; assisting with preparation of findings of evaluations and analyzes of social science programs and topics; and preparing talking points, briefing materials, reports, and presentation on finds of research and analysis.
The qualifications for this position require that the individual be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and have a certain amount of education; as such you are required to provide a copy of your transcripts (either official or unofficial); proof of student status; an accepted letter for an upcoming term; or a letter on your institution letterhead which provides a list of courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter or semester hours earned.

Pathways Internship Eligibility:
Be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate on a full or half-time basis.
NOTE: You MUST provide proof that you are currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in the next academic term on a full-time or part-time basis.
If selected, you will be required to maintain Pathways Program eligibility and provide proof of enrollment each semester or quarter, while in the program. Failure to maintain required 3.0 or higher GPA, academic good standings, or half-time enrollment status could result in you being deemed ineligible for the Pathways Internship Program and dismissed.
