About the Position:
This is an Engineering Technician (Civil) position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, Engineering and Construction Division. There is one vacancy to be filled in Corpus Christi, TX and one vacancy to be filled in La Porte, TX. This position may be filled at the entry GS-05 level, the GS-06 level, or at the full performance GS-07 level. If the position is filled at the entry GS-05 level or at the GS-06 level, the incumbent will have non-competitive promotion potential to the GS-07 level as long as at least one year of successful performance is reached at the next lower grade level.
NOTE: Salary is dependent on duty location selected for the position and will be determined at the time of job offer.

At the full performance level, the incumbent will be responsible for independently planning, conducting, and coordinating continuous, simultaneous surveys to determine condition of disposal areas located along one or more major navigation channels such as the GIWW, Houston-Galveston, Corpus Christi, and Sabine-Neches. They will provide input and recommendations to project engineers for design of levees, spillways, and pipeline placements based on knowledge of property lines, soil and site conditions.
