The incumbent serves as the Director of Marketing and Business Development and reports to the Director, Office of Technology, Services, and Innovation. He/she has responsibility for the overall supervision, management, and effective use of personnel, technical, and financial resources employed in the Office of Business Development. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively market and place VOA, RFE/RL, RFA and other U.S. international media content with local and national outlets (FM and AM radio, television, Internet, mobile, and other relevant platforms) in targeted markets worldwide.
The incumbent must analyze market, political, and regulatory conditions, determine optimum methods for placing content, ranging from single radio stations to large regional cable (satellite) TV networks, as well as digital platforms. Also formulates and successfully pursues a strategy for bringing about the placement of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) content on these platforms.
