The Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) is a comprehensive overhaul of our National Airspace System (NAS) to make air travel more convenient and dependable, while ensuring your flight is as safe, secure, and hassle-free as possible. The NextGen Organization has a duty to communicate clearly and consistently as a corporate entity in responding to oversight bodies and other interested stakeholders.
The successful candidate will serve as a speech writer and communications expert to the Assistant Administrator for NextGen and to the Deputy Assistant Administrator for NextGen to ensure the proper messaging of NextGen-related issues. The candidate will be required to independently plan, schedule, coordinate, and submit completed staff documents and publications and will also participate in technical meetings and activities. For specific projects you may be called upon to work with contacts across the agency and oversight bodies to develop the project’s strategy, research key data, write, edit or design materials, and see the project through to delivery. The end product must be clear, concise, and targeted to its audience, and delivered on budget and deadline. The incumbent will effectively coordinate organization wide communications to include content control and coordination of the organization’s internal website.
Is a recognized subject matter expert and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities. May act as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities
Applies experience and expert knowledge that are applicable to conduct functional activities for projects/programs that often require the development of new and innovative approaches.
Applies knowledge of FAA's policies and objectives to identify, define, and organize resources for large projects/programs/work activities.
Provides expert guidance and instruction both internally and externally to address diverse, complex issues which often cross multiple projects, programs, and/or functional areas. Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues. Works with senior management to identify and resolve problems.
