As a Title 10 Faculty Member (Political Science), you will perform the following duties:

Designs, develops, conducts, and evaluates graduate level classes in military art and science for School of Advanced Military Studies students at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Classes are complex, innovative, and require continual revision and reassessment of historical, regional, political, economic, military theory, military doctrine for operations and planning, operational art, and similar components of the curriculum.
Initiates learning objectives and prepares lesson, course, and module readings and syllabi. Provides individual guidance and direction for students enrolled in SAMS programs and establishes and evaluates learning module requirements.
Authors and presents postgraduate level core courses in support of Advanced Strategic Leadership Studies Program (ASLSP) curriculum, a U.S. Army War College MEL-1 equivalent program, provides similar instruction for the Advanced Military Studies Program (AMSP), and graduate level classes in support of the Professional Military Education Phases in support of the Advanced Strategic Planning and Policy Program (ASP3).
Assists in planning, developing, and preparing curricula, instructional materials, lesson plans, and exercises for lessons on joint doctrine and joint planning.
Mastery of research techniques in order to perform analytical, in-depth research on broad academic, historical, regional or similar topics and to advise, counsel, direct, and evaluate students engaged in research or course assignments.
Presents research in narrative, analytical or other appropriate formats including professional publications, lectures, seminars, books, professional sponsored official journals, informal talks, and audio-visual programs.
Participates with other instructors in planning and developing the curriculum for SAMS, and/or in a continuing evaluation and revision of that curriculum.
Provides critical evaluation and comment on draft doctrinal manuscripts being considered for publication by CGSC.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Education Requirement: In order to basically qualify, you must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in a regionally accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree that included a major field of study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience in developing undergraduate or graduate level curriculum, teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, and performing academic research at the graduate or undergraduate level in either history or a related area.

-OR-

Appropriate combination of education and experience. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields, a typical college degree would have included that involved analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, etc. These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation; therefore, creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: In order to be minimally qualified applicants must possess a Master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
