About the Position:
Serves as a guard with the Director of Law Enforcement and Security on rotating shifts and post enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, or property special access areas involving highly toxic materials and /or other highly up to an including secret materials. The Pine Bluff Arsenal is located in White Hall, AR with an estimated population of 5,000. The Arsenal is just South of Pine Bluff, AR with a population of approximately 49,000 and home of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The Arsenal has on-site child care for employees and for recreational activities we offer fishing, hunting and a recreation facility.

As a Security Guard you will perform duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage and to enforce the security regulations of the installation. Controls access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation. Verifies identification through use of identification cards, badges, automated records, vehicle decals, verbal questioning, and other means. Allows entrance to persons and vehicles that display proper authorization. As initial point of contact, answer brief visitor questions, determines whether appropriate authorization for access exists, and provides assistance. Records visitor information and purpose of visit, as necessary; and may issue daily passes or refer visitors to another location to obtain special passes. Conducts foot or vehicle patrol or perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas as well as interior of shops, storage administrative and other structures. Responds to and investigates law enforcement calls for service/complaints of criminal activity and detains violators. Performs LE function causing arrests, detaining and searching individuals, affecting apprehensions. Patrols the Arsenal to preserve peace, prevent crime, protect life and personal property, and enforce Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
Other Requirements:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. To be consider for this job you must have 2 years of successfully completed study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 12 semester hours in police administration, police law and evidence, police investigation, criminology, law enforcement, general law, or similar subjects closely related to police work.
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
