In this position, you will serve as an Archives Technician in the Call Center with the Military Personnel Records, National Personnel Records Center (NPRC). This position is be filled at the developmental level, at the full performance level you will perform the following duties:
Call Center members respond to a variety of types of requests for information regarding military and civil service.
Qualifications by Closing Date: You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Please note that qualifications will be subject to verification.
Probationary Period: You will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
GS-04: Candidates must have had one (1) year of general experience. General Experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work which shows that you have the ability to obtain the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Education may be substituted for experience: GS-04- Successful completion of two years of education above the high school level, OR an associate degree from an accredited institution. If qualifying based on education, transcripts must be provided.
Combination of Experience and Education: You may use a combination of your post-high school education from an accredited educational institution and experience to meet the total experience requirements of the GS-04 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
