The VA Western States Network Consortium Pathway provides practical, guided work experience in a VA clinical laboratory while students study online after hours. This is a Student Career Opportunity for post-graduate (baccalaureate-degree) students enrolled in anapproved, affiliated distance- learning (on-line) Clinical Laboratory Science university or college program leading to eligibility to achieve national certification as a Medical Technologist (Clinical Laboratory Scientist). The Southern Arizona VA Health CareSystem is currently recruiting for two (2) Student Trainee Medical Laboratory Technicians to work in the Clinical Laboratory within the Pathology & Lab Medical Service Line. The Student Trainee Medical Technician will rotate through practical work training experiences in the Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology,Chemistry/Urinalysis, and Immunohematology/Immunology sections. The employee isrequired to meet all requirements of the learning objectives and to remain ingood standing with the participating university or college Clinical LaboratoryScience Program. · Perform of a variety of tests undergraduated supervision.
