About the Position:
Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York's picturesque North Country, one of the most historically unique and geographically beautiful areas of the United States, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. This position is located in the Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC), under the Deputy Commander for Administration, Fort Drum, New York. In this position you will serve as a training instructor assigned to develop and deliver course material to clinical staff on the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in outpatient and inpatient environments. You will carry out training sessions and develop materials for training for both classroom and individual training environments. You will ensure that the course evaluation material is used to continually update and improve the course delivery. You will also assist with providing resolution to functional system issues in a customer support capacity.

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the delivery of instruction on clinical information systems within a healthcare environment; development of training and/or course materials; the evaluation of training results; and administering a training program in a health care environment.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).
