The Loan Assistant is responsible for routine assignments in the administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA )Home Loan Program. Guides, counsels, and instructs program participants on aspects of the VA Home Loan Program through personal and/or written contacts. Responsible for the completion of post-guaranty loan reviews for refinances and in conjunction with Loan Specialists completes other post guaranty loan reviews. Makes eligibility determinations, resolves data discrepancies, and issues Certificates of Eligibility (COE's). Prepares and maintains a manual of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the duties and procedures required for each position in Loan Production. Maintains manuals, circulars, loan guaranty memoranda, and other reference materials.
