Employee Well-being and Organizational Development Director
The incumbent has full delegated authority and responsibility to manage and direct the well-being life coaching program, focusing in employee development and spiritual well-being at the Network Level. The program coordinator provides consultation and policy guidance to Medical Center level employee well-being and development operational services. The program coordinator encourages and assist leaders to counsel employees on a range of professional and personal issues. Life coaching is distinct from giving advice, consulting, counseling, and mentoring, helping employees with specific professional projects, personal goals and transitions. The incumbent additionally serves as the leader for Patient Experience throughout the VISN.
The position serves as a leader in the transformation of the overall employee well-being. The core elements of the overall life coaching program include empowering employees to identify their overall personal health and wellbeing goals, equipping them with self-care strategies and skills, including complementary and integrative health approaches, and creating shared goals with development, spiritual, and health teams. The well-being leader works collaboratively and strategically with the Network Director, facility leadership, human resources officers, and Chaplains throughout the VA Healthcare System and VISN.
The incumbent is involved in the overall management of the Network by providing expertise in all areas of employee development and well-being. This is demonstrated by membership and active participation on various Network councils and committees. Participates with top management both locally and at the Network level in the Network's annual budget process to review requests and allocate funding to all Network facilities and determine authorized FTEE. The incumbent evaluates budget and authorized FTEE to determine what may be needed to carry out the human resources support for the network.
